Changes to ARL Statistics definition of Serials

Back in September, Martha Kyrillidou posted this on her Assessment Blog regarding changes to the way ARL defines serials statistics – from count of subscriptions to a count of titles, with a preference for electronic format.

What do you all think of this change? Is it a more valid measurement of a library’s holdings? How will it affect longitudinal analysis?
